Year One

For ambitious students who are ready to initiate their careers, the International Year One Program helps you complete your bachelor’s degree in the usual three years.

What is International Year One?

International Year One is a one-year program at the NCUK Study Centre, providing successful students with a path to their 2nd year of university. Successful completion of the program and achievement of the required grades will allow them to proceed to the second year of their bachelor’s degree. International Year One will further develop your academic knowledge and English skills. This is a two-semester program with two routes to choose from.

What is International Year Two?

The International Year Two in Business Management is an equivalent second-year qualification that develops problem-solving, critical thinking, and delegation skills in the field of business management. With this qualification, you can complete your second year with a Bachelor’s degree in your home country.
Once qualified, you can choose from a range of courses at Liverpool John Moores University, Salford University, or Sheffield Hallam University to study for your final year and graduate with a degree from that university.

Who is it for?

Designed entirely for worldwide/international students. The purpose of the International Year One is to prepare you to study a complete combination of core and subject-specific modules focused on teaching English, study skills, employability, and academic areas relevant to your chosen degree from NCUK.

International Year One is specifically designed for those who:

  • are at least 16 years old.
  • are ambitious and career-oriented students.
  • wish to improve their English before starting to study.
  • needs to learn about the British educational system
  • want to start professional life in just 3 years.
  • want to learn the basics of your chosen subject.
  • want to study under a teacher who is familiar with international education.
  • Have graduated from high school or equivalent.
  • Have Completed an accredited international foundation program. 

International Year One is also suitable for students from outside the UK or EU. All of your teachers have experience helping non-native English speakers. You will receive all the tuition and guidance you need to succeed.

Accounting and Finance

Expand your financial knowledge with NCUK. This path offers an opportunity to use his business experience to advance to his BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, providing insight into subjects such as law and business analysis.

Business Management

Prepare for a business administration degree in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. With modules in Business, Marketing, and Business Practice, this course will equip you with the expertise you need to pursue her BSc (Hons) degree in Business Administration with business experience.

Events Management

Gain the knowledge to change the world by studying this highly-ranked subject at NCUK. Prepare for a successful career in event management by preparing for your undergraduate degree with the NCUK Study Centre.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The International Year in Computer Science at the International Study Center prepares students for a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering at any international university.

Law

The International Year in international law at the International Study Center prepares students for a bachelor's degree in B.A (Hons) LLB at any international university.

Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

Prepare students for the specific requirements of their chosen course. Develop awareness and competence in a variety of language-related academic, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. This allows you to progress to a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (Hons).

Upon completing the program and achieving the required grades, you are ready to move on to the second year of your chosen bachelor’s degree.

Students are responsible for their time, independent study, homework completion, cooking, shopping, and budgeting.

This program will allow you to become familiar with teaching at a UK university in a safe and international environment.

University progression

  • Spend your first year at the International Study Center to develop the skills you need to succeed academically. 
  • After completing International Year One, you can continue your studies in the second year of your BSc (International) at any international university. 
  • This includes obtaining the required grades and progression requirements are subject to change. You can discuss this with your teacher at the end of the program.

Entry Requirements

English Language Requirements
  • Standard entry for IELTS 5.5 (no components below 5.5). Students with lower levels of English are required to complete a 6-week or 12-week pre-sessional English program.
  • IELTS 4.5 (if below 4.0) ,12-week pre-sessional English program
  • IELTS 5.0 (no component below 4.5), 6 weeks of English program before the session
  • IELTS 5.5 (any skill below 5.5) 6 weeks English Programmer before the session
Academic Entry Requirements
  • High school diploma plus one year of continuing education or Excellent (senior) high school graduation grades. 
  • Completed A Levels, IB, or an internationally-recognized Foundation Year program.
Age on entry

Must be 18 years or above.
